COLOR KINETICS HONORED FOR PRODUCT EXCELLENCE
iW MR earns a prestigious Judges' Citation Award at Lightfair International
Boston, MA - April 20, 2005 -Color Kinetics Incorporated (NASDAQ: CLRK), a pioneer in the design, marketing and licensing of intelligent solid-state lighting systems and technologies, today announced continued industry recognition of its innovations with five awards for product excellence. Most recently, iW MR earned a prestigious Judges' Citation Award last week at Lightfair International, the lighting industry's most prominent North American event.
Chosen from more than 200 nominated products, iW MR was recognized as a significant step forward in the development of LED-based lamps as an effective alternative to conventional sources. As part of Color Kinetics' groundbreaking IntelliWhite™ series, iW MR is designed to retrofit into standard MR16 fixtures and sockets, making it easily adaptable to existing lighting environments, including commonly used tracks, rails, cables and pendants. It is available in three distinct kelvin temperatures, and is the first solid-state lamp of its kind to allow the adjustment of light intensity using most standard dimmers.
"Since our very first appearance at Lightfair in 1998, Color Kinetics has continually pushed the boundaries of innovation to deliver top-quality products that enable new and forward-looking applications of intelligent solid-state illumination," said George Mueller, Chairman and CEO, Color Kinetics. "We are thrilled with this acknowledgement of iW MR, which capped the exciting Lightfair debut of our IntelliWhite series, and represents an important step in our progression towards general illumination."
In other recent honors, three Color Kinetics products were recognized with 2005 ADEX Awards for Design Excellence by Design Journal, an international trade publication for interior designers, architects and facility managers. The three products, ColorCast™ 14, iColor® Flex SL, and iColor MR g2, each received the highest-level distinction (Platinum) in the Lighting category. A panel of lighting specialists determined the winners based on innovation, technological advancement, quality, aesthetics and value.
