Brunswick ZoneFeasterville, PA
When one of the world's foremost bowling authorities decided to expand its concept of family entertainment with new, state-of-the-art facilities, only the theatrics of high-tech, color-changing light would do. Dubbed Brunswick Zone®, the modernized recreation center in Feasterville, Pennsylvania boasts a range of colorful lighting effects that reflect Brunswick's innovative spirit and the evolution of a history-rich pastime.
A multinational, $4 billion recreation company based in Lake Forest, Illinois, Brunswick introduced the now-famous concept of Cosmic Bowling® in 1996. This modern take on an old sport creates a nighttime atmosphere in very low light, where luminescent surfaces glow in the dark, including the lanes, balls and pins. Brunswick Zone takes this spectacle further by adding vivid, eye-pleasing light shows and accompanying music. In the center of the facility, 32 Color Kinetics ColorBlast® fixtures splash the walls with color and movement.Though neon light was originally considered for the project, ColorBlast proved a more dynamic and cost-efficient solution, washing the walls from approximately 3 feet away and providing maximum spread while still achieving perfect saturation. The black fixture finish was selected to disappear into the structure above, resulting in a seamless display of changing colors.
ColorBlast creates a variety of light show effects at Brunswick Zone, ranging from the gradual color change of an entire wall to a timed rainbow pattern. With average use, the LED fixtures will endure far longer than traditional lighting methods while also producing dramatic energy savings. The absence of moving parts and heat translates to little or no maintenance concerns.

In addition to the brilliant lighting displays, Brunswick Zone features 48 lanes of bowling, expanded arcade facilities, a laser tag arena, and an elaborate lounge outfitted with sleek leather furnishings, big screen televisions, and a fireplace. But there's one relic that holds its own against the facility's updated amenities — a large neon sign salvaged from the old Brunswick Alley just down the street.
