Conde Nast Cafeteria New York, NY The corporate cafeteria within Conde Nast’s New York headquarters provides a colorful respite from the daily grind. The 12,000 square foot (1,115 square meter) space is architecturally lit entirely by a Philips LED system – no conventional light sources are used.
The space encompasses approximately 90,000 individually controlled nodes of iColor® Flex SL, which line the ceiling and walls behind monolithic glass for a smooth, diffused effect. Seven unique light sequences were programmed as a base number of looks for the space, with the intent to invite outside artists to create temporary light exhibits.
The award-winning project perfectly exemplifies the use of dynamic light as an element of architecture itself.
