De Winterbaai

De Winterbaai, a well-known spot for festivals and culinary delights by the water, was looking for a complete lighting system to illuminate their seasonal décor consisting of the logo ‘De Winterbaai’ and the artwork at the front of the park, the igloos, and the ice bar. Next to aesthetic goals, the lighting design also had to be energy efficient.

The biggest challenge the team faced was creating a lighting design to accommodate the modular décor of De Winterbaai. Lighting designer, Nick Dankers, from Color Kinetics Certified System Integrator, Livingprojects, chose Color Kinetics eW Blast Powercore for the trees, igloos, and artwork at the front of the park, and Color Kinetics Vaya Flood for the logo.

The lighting design is programmed with Color Kinetics iPlayer 3 to light up De Winterbaai at sunset and automatically switches to night mode at closing time. Every season the décor changes, which requires the lighting solution to be flexible, yet with minimum energy usage.

The result is a lean lighting solution.
