Restaurant ceiling transformed with LEDs
Lighting designers G2J Designs used a range of Color Kinetics LED luminaires to create a flexible, energy-efficient, and maintenance-free lighting environment for Meat Market, one of the most popular restaurants in Florida’s Miami Beach.
iColor Cove QLX and iColor Cove MX Powercore (now specified with PureStyle Compact Powercore, IntelliHue) LED cove lights transform the ceiling into a lighting element that paints the entire space with color-changing light. iColor Cove QLX luminaires are concealed above the mirrored ceiling’s dropped clear acrylic panels and the light panel at the back bar. An easy-to-modify iPlayer 3 light show changes color slowly from champagne to amber to orange to deep red wine color, altering the mood in the dining room as the evening progresses from cocktail hour through late dinner and beyond. iColor Cove MX Powercore luminaires concealed behind acrylic panels create silhouetted effects in the wine displays.
eW Cove Powercore 2800 K white-light LED cove luminaires concealed within the drop ceiling uplight the curved ceiling above, and reflect ambient light back into the space below. The lighting designers chose eW Cove Powercore luminaires for this aspect of the design because they are energy efficient, maintenance-free, and connect directly to line voltage with no external power supplies, simplifying installation for the general contractor.
