Westfield Täby Centrum

After acquiring Täby Centrum, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield sought to rebrand their key malls in Sweden. In preparation for the grand re-opening of the malls, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield invested in new and updated lighting, signage, as well as other structural and infrastructure updates; Westfield Täby Centrum is the second of these projects in Scandanavia.

The objective of the lighting design was to clearly convey the new ownership and a dramatic change at the mall. The lighting system needed to include scheduled lighting scenes that users could easily change and maintain and achieve a similar look and feel across their malls.

Completed in September 2022, Color Kinetics was selected for the project based on a long and successful track record with URW demonstrating deep expertise, a customer-centric approach, and high-quality lighting solutions.

The building’s previous façade and iconic roof globe lighting was replaced with Color Kinetics Flex Compact gen3, RGB with 80 mm spacing. Flex Compact also comprised new lighting on the interior garage entrances and on the exterior garage pylons. In total, 7,936 nodes of Flex Compact were installed in mounted Color Kinetics tracks. Color Kinetics Vaya Linear luminaires mounted on the wall graze the large restaurant window facing the outside square. Power and data to the fully controlled system is provided by Color sPDS-480ca 24V (7 pcs).
